So, you want to change your username to something better than you currently have. Well, I have done that. There are a few notable changes to know. SKYBLOCK -Break your shop signs: Your ChestShop signs will not adapt to your new username. You will be unable to access the items inside, and you will not be able to buy/sell to it either, so don't try that. Break them beforehand, if it's not one that automatically restocks(i.e. an egg shop). Actually, you might want to break those if you wanna be on the safe side. (No longer a problem for me, read Edit #1) -Your vote count: This will reset to 0, I am assuming until you go back to your previous name. This isn't too bad, I guess more rewards for reaching those milestones every 10 votes. -Your playtime: This will also reset to 0. Again, it won't kill you unless you really care about what it's at. These are all of the negative things I have noticed. Here's another one though. -Your warp sign: It automatically updates to your new name! So for example, my warp, originally /as warp freezinater, now works as /as warp rhghd.(Dat username tho..., I can explain it later if you wish...) If I find any more changes, I'll be sure to let you know by editing this main post, so keep an eye out! EDIT LIST/CHANGELOG Edit #1 on Feb. 5: This morning, I have found that my egg shop signs are working like normal for me again. I get credited the money, and I can access the chest, even though it shows freezinater, rather than my current username. Also, if anyone wants to help me out, we could make this a global thing showing what effects it'll have on every server. We'd just have to get this moved to the proper area. I've gone ahead and formatted it as needed.
Also, if you change your name, it's a good idea to remove all signs locking your chest, or you can have an mod+ do for you after you change.
Well, I mostly tend to play on Skyblock, so I don't really know what effects changing your name will have on you on other servers, so I only put it under Skyblock, but we could get this moved, if others decide to pitch in and inform me of effects on the other servers. I didn't know there was an actual chest-locking plugin on Skyblock. Whenever I wanted to lock one, I would just simply make a super expensive shop sign, for example 1 stick for 10 million dollars, so if anyone on my team wanted to try to loot a stick off me from that chest, I would either be 10 million dollars richer, or they'd just be outta luck. ^_^
On Plots, (I changed my IGN to KittyKaper) if I open any "locked" chests or furnaces, etc. it'll update to my new IGN.
