    I enjoy cold biomes mainly because I do not like rain. I enjoy Extreme Hills and Extreme Hills+ because I love to build inside mountains rather than build a home on a flat surface.

    I prefer extreme hills for one reason- on smp servers with admin shops, emeralds normally sell for a lot. So I like finding un-tapped extreme hills biomes to mine in. Also, sort of like you stated. If I feel like making a sky base, I don't have to waste more blocks pillaring up. Instead, I only need to use ~100.
