I thought of making a public wither farm, since the other ones are outdated, no longer maintained, and/or are dangerous. So I came up with this design and did some testing before I tried it out on the server. Built it in the Nether, put the spawners in, and... disappointment. The first two videos are proof of the bug, and the third is how it SHOULD work. First video: https://vid.me/j7Gr Second video: https://vid.me/yRtD Third video: https://vid.me/ZqK0 Problems (This seems to only happen in the Nether.): Both Wither Skeletons and Skeletons are not hostile towards you. They do, however, become hostile towards Wolves, but ONLY when the Wolves attack first. (Normal) Skeletons do not flee from Wolves like they should. Often phase through blocks when hit against one. Solutions I've tried (in case it was just temporary): Warp away from the place and warp back. Disconnect and reconnect to the server. Turn off /fly. Different Minecraft versions. I tried both 1.9.2 and Optifine for 1.9.2, but alas, still the same result. Mine and replace the spawners. Additional Information: I came up with this Wither Skeleton Farm design that uses wolves as a threat and force the skeletons to path-find and escape them. Skeletons, like all other hostile mobs, see the trapdoor as a block they could walk over, and fall into the chute, ready to be killed by players. Updated on 04/18/16
I wanted to finish it before I show it in public, so I can claim it as my design > Which is why I was looking to buy/trade for more Skeleton spawners to add to the farm. Inb4 people claiming they did it first. By forcing them out of the spawner's detecting range, it allows more skeletons to be spawned.
