I love to debate, a lot. Today I couldn't find anyone to debate with, so why not with al you? So let's get started. Will they be more intimidating that students will do what is told? Do you think this wont make any difference? Comment what you think!
This would make students scared for their life if teachers did that! Heck no, that is not a good idea! They would make students more scared than make them do what told. This will make a major difference. If teachers did have weapons, I would go run and go hide in a closet, curled up in a ball and scared to death..
Teachers should be able to have tazers, especially at private schools because of religion they are often targeted, if a teacher is caught mis-using it they should be fired on the spot.
This would be a terrible idea, since there could be a teacher with anger issues then shooting it for a dumb reason. There could be idiot students. In my school, we just hired a cop this year for guarding the school, etc. which is a very smart idea other then this idea of letting teachers having guns in schools.
I even have a social studies teacher who damn, he'd probably shoot a LOT of students in my school if allowed to.
My thoughts on teachers having weapons at school. I believe it would not be the brightest idea to allow teachers to be able to have weapons at school. The students can make teachers lose their temper sometimes and that might lead to the shooting of a student (highly unlikely but still possible). Students would be very leery of the teachers and could be afraid of them, which I would not want. I have never owned a gun and I have only held a BB gun one time. The only people who should be allowed to carry a weapon would be the people who guard the entrances to the schools, like the front office people and a police officer on duty. I also think students shouldn't be able to carry weapons to school either. We are kids, we will be irrational and play with them and we could accidentally shoot it. We are still learning our ways. Okay, what if pupils take the guns though and use it to harm the teachers? The average teen male could at least in sweden take out the vast majority of my teachers or maybe a few of the pupils doing it together?To put guns or weapons in a school? We've had world wide school shootings for the last few years, think about it. It could also lead to that we're exposing younger people to an environment which shows that guns are a 'natural' and allowed thing. Let's face it, now days most children who goes to school spends more time with their teachers than their actual family and for the teacher to have guns? It's a recipe for disaster. Teachers shouldn't have to be intimidating, they're there to help you get a future an if you don't want it, screw it all up then. They're not there to force you to do boring things for nothing, it all has a reason behind it. To give them something to 'use' we could implement rules which would allow them to have a closer connection with the cops in case of emergencies. People who are a danger other students and teachers should have specially trained teachers to cope with it. Violence and fear isn't the way to rule, to come to an understanding is the only way you'll change the views of others. Why would teachers have tasers? In sweden you're not even allowed to carry pepper spray but guess what? I feel safe. I know there's no guns near me, I know that my future children won't mistake guns for toys and on accident shoot themselves or other people/children. I feel safe. Have a nice day~
