I've been playing on this server since about November 2014, and I noticed some things that really make me dislike playing on here. I've had a lot of issues since my beginnings on the server, so I will address them all in this post. Chunk resets on Survival So recently I logged on to the server and part of my house was gone, and I've also seen this happen to others. So after spamming the chat for help, which is a subject I'll get to later on, Shrekster responded and did the best he could do to help me. Now it wasn't completely fixed because I built my house before the block logging plugin was on the server, so Shreks hand were tied. http://puu.sh/gAmHq/55d0f32198.png http://puu.sh/gAexU/cbf0a0d7eb.jpg Chats are too cluttered With all the colored names for Staff and Donors, it can be hard to see regular players talk. My point being, Donors and Staff are heard first, making many feel ignored. As regular player I have to do something rule breaking to be heard. In the past I have had to curse and spam the chat in order to get the attention of a staff member, and nobody should have to do that. Staff are often not able to help/ Staff rude to player There were multiple times when staff were not able to help. I've notice that staff do not have the correct permissions to keep up with all the issues the server has had. I have been staff on other servers and I know how frustrating it is when I cannot help a player, and on countless occasions I have seen a staff member be tied because of the lack of their permissions. Also when I have an issue, it is a staff members job to help me and fix that issue, but I have received smug comments and some are just outright rude. Conclusion I've lost interest in playing on this server. This server isn't going to get anywhere with the problems that keep reappearing, and I hate to be blunt but this server just flushed itself down the toilet.
I can see why the staff hasn't replied. There are issues, but aome of this is you. The staff can't have permits to create enourmous structures or destroy the world. It just doesn't work like that. You have flushed your own interest down the toilet, and you need to report rude responses by staff to the appropriate section. Instead of bellyaching on why tne satffhas issues, maybe try running a server yourself. While you're at it, follow the rules. The staff and donors have colors because they paid money, so they deserve to be heard first. No offense, but there's a lot of silly small thing that noobs report on here. If a few blocks disappear, that could be lag. What did you really lose there? A door and maybe a few blocks? Just look at the positive. You have most of your house and you really can just message a staff about issues to be heard...
We understand the problem that is currently going on with chunks on survival and we are diagnosing that right now. The chat has changed over the years to actually become more organized. Players are still heard (at least from what I have seen) and staff don't ignore regular players in any way. The fact that you're breaking rules will create more problems towards you. If you can't get help on the server, you come on here and create a thread like this one (but less insulting to the server) or fill out a bug report form. Also, if you see a staff member being rude, you have the complete right to create a thread under the "Report a Staff" category where forum commanders will investigate. We do our best to assure everything is alright with players throughout the network. The most common staff members online are helpers and moderators. Helpers don't have many permissions due to them being in "staff training" and moderators do have more commands, but not everything. Even as an admin, I don't have OP on any server, however I do have more permissions. We can't just give out these delicate server permissions to every staff member or chaos is bound to occur. Also, the network is being worked on everyday with new things being added and current things being fixed. We're trying our best to make your experience the best out there, but saying that the servers are going nowhere is horrible motivation. I'm literally spending hours of my days to be on here for the network. Noble spends his nights on here. Lew_ lives to code on here! We are using hours of our lives for your enjoyment, and we're doing this for free. We're literally doing the best we can.
I have runned multiple servers in the past, and I have been able to give staff permission for stuff like WorldEdit and Creative mode because I actually spent time picking trustworthy people for the positions and I have had no issues. I understand your concern, but as a server owner you must monitor your staff before and while they are staff so that nothing bad happens. Staff also require training so they know what they are doing(have runned into staff that don't know what they are doing) I'm not asking for every staff to get OP, but maybe Creative or some way to fix something that happens on the server because the person with OP might not be available all the time.
Lets forget about the survival server, I wrote this before I realized what happened. My point being why I had to break rules to be heard should not happen, I see players every day asking for help and are getting ignored. There are times I have said "can I have some help" and I was not heard, so I asked again and again, and was not noticed. I should not have to make a forum account to ask for help, thats like calling 911 for help and theres a cop right in front of you, it makes no sense. This post was in no way supposed to be "insulting" toward the server, I just wanted to bring to light many issues I have noticed.
I thank you for taking your time to make the server more enjoyable, but to say that you don't receive anything from being staff on the server you are wrong. As staff you gain power and as owner, there is a chance that you can gain some monetary value from this, Noble even said it himself.
Even if you have trustworthy staff, there needs to be a balance of power. I don't even have creative because it isn't a necessity. World edit isn't a necessity for me either. Moderators and helpers don't need these. The way we have everything set up right now is not like other Minecraft servers. Our system is professionally set up. Regardless of what you think, the staff have more than enough permissions to moderate, as their job description states. Also, staff are sometimes AFK or doing something else on the server, such as helping someone else. You need to be patient or create a thread on here stating your issue.
If staff members are helping someone else, they should at least acknowledge the fact that anyone is in need of help. Just saying "I help you after I finish helping[Other Player]" would make a HUGE difference, and being patience can only go a long way. I had waited for upwards of 10 minutes and thats when my patience ran out. Regardless of whether I think the staff have enough permissions, It is discouraging when I ask a staff member for help and they tell me that they can't do that, and these are the staff members that are online most of the time.
Alright, little late to the party but I would like to say something. JAMEEMO, I am very sorry that part of your house was deleted, I am very, very, very sorry, I cant imagine what you have lost, I know it sucks, I wouldn't like it either. (On a side note, Pirate's house was 3/4ths deleted, and he has lost a lot of stuff, he had 4 floors of chests, more than half are gone. :/ Sorry Pirate!) Also, today has been very busy for staff tonight, personally I was caught up in a lot of things, I barely watched chat, I am sorry about that, as staff I should be watching chat, always. Players do have a grey name, I agree, but they are heard, I never miss them, today was just a tied up day for me. Swearing in chat is never necessary, ever. If you want staff's attention, /msg them in game, even though I do see player's chat, if I am helping another player or looking up restore logs, I don't pay attention to chat so I can focus on the problem at hand, but I usually see /Msgs to me at these times as it is bright yellow and grabs my attention. Staff having permissions, the permissions have been changed throughout the years of Noble-Craft and this is where it is stable throughout the staff, there is usually one OP on most of the time, but they are making sure the Network is being dealt with, when I went to your house, I told Noble right away the problem, but right then, he was working on bug fixing the drop party, right then, so he couldn't get fixing it that second. That is why I Tpa ed you to the drop party, I thought you would enjoy it. TL;DR I am sorry your house was deleted, Pirate has it worse. Tonight was a busy night for staff. Try messaging the staff to see if you can grab their attention. The staff permissions are fine as they are, it has been perfected over the years of Noble-Craft.
Thanks for your help Shrek, in fact you were the only staff member that really gave me answers, even if you couldn't help me. You protected my house when the claims got deleted, and you tried to fix it to the best of your ability when the issue happened. You gave me answers when no one else did, with no BS. If you couldn't do something, you got someone who could. I done giving some constructive criticism because some people just don't know how to handle it. I noticed a few things wrong and I thought that it should be known.
Count me in JANEEMO, I will definitely help the server when staff are not online to the best of my ability.
Breaking rules is not something to do to get a staff member's attention. You can just so easily /msg a staff member. It is tragic that your house had a problem, but you're not supposed to curse to get a staff member's attention to get it fixed. Plus, if you're cursing in chat on another server and you're saying you own a server, you must have a problem. I think that this thread should be locked at this point.
