So, apparently on February 4th Mojang will make it possible for us to change our usernames. I have started this forum thread to find out how this will affect Noble Craft. It was previously stated that if we changed our username, we would not be able to get on Noble Craft until we changed it back, however that was in April 2014. A lot has changed with minecraft in the subsequent updates. Can knowledgeable staff please address this and give direction regarding this subject. ** Please do not post or comment on this unless you are staff AND actually have an answer to this regarding Noble Craft. If you are a player, please do not post your thoughts or guesses below... just sit tight and wait for an answer. In the meantime you can read this: Mojang Information on Name Changes: https://mojang.com/2015/01/announcing-minecraft-name-changes/ Previous Thread Regarding Name Changes on Noble Craft https://noble-craft.net/community/threads/name-changes-uuids-and-1-8.542/
That's too bad, I've actually been researching it from the pre-releases for the modders to get stuff running properly and I do know the answer but I don't think I'm staff anymore sooo....
Okay, so I should have added "And you can reply if you have been researching this and have an intelligent and well-informed answer". Turnbull, if you haven't noticed lately, there are people that just comment in order to comment and add to their number of total posts so they can be closer to applying for staff, and they add absolutely nothing to the discussion. Your informed opinion is very welcomed. Sorry if I offended you. I would like to hear what you have to say about this and have researched. I would hope that the introduction of UUIDs and the implementation of them server-wide will make the identification of the current users unique and the permissions are no longer dependent on our actual In-Game name and instead are dependent upon the unchanging UUID. This would mean that on February 4th we can change our usernames and it will not affect our ability to log into Noble Craft. However, I thought I would get some confirmation or clarification on this before people start changing their names and then are not able to log on for a month (the minimum amount of time you must wait to change your in-game name again)
LOL, actually I was just jerking your chain... I have no idea about the name thing, I was just trying to boost my number of posts, I think Noble has gotten ahead of me some how. And wait until all those people applying for management find out that the post to ratings ratio is what they are looking at, so the more useless posts they make, the harder it is going to be to make staff. Cheers
It shouldn't change anything, you should still be able to get on the server. If you have a rank, it should still be there.
I did my research on this, and Mojang has an ID number for each player instead of name IDs. Kinda like block and player ID classification switched. If you wish to know where my info is, the launcher has update notes and it has a link to some Frequently Asked Questions and it says specifically: "What if I have bought a rank? Will I lose that if my username changes?" The response is no, players will be identified by a number instead of name. Also, nobody can steal a youtubers name or staffs name. Thanks for reading my ramble XD
