Enchant Level question on survival

Is it possible to get a level 40 enchant on the survival (non-pvp) server? There are conflicting reports on this subject. Can one fo you management types clear up this debate with some fax? Thanks in advance.

No it is not, The max level enchantment 30

 

I told the doubters. They disagree lol. O well ..horse to water etc etc.

 

Stormy is correct, it is impossible to get a 40 level enchant, the max is 30 levels, now you can use an anvil for repairing things, adding enchants and naming items, that can go up to 39 levels.
