I was just thinking... But an official server could have like unlimited RAM CPU etc. and I see no reason why there wouldent be every single gamemode ever created on that server, and imagine the staff body. There would be some thousands of staff xD anyway I won't comment on the actual thing as it could well spark arguments.
Which, if Mojang were acquired by Microsoft, they can just as easily say that they own all content created using code from the game. They can just as easily change their EULA and terms of service to state that anything made in Minecraft is theirs.
I agree with Noble. A Microsoft server would kill off this server, along with the rest. There is also hardcore and adventure mode.
Look what happened to privately owned servers on WoW. They were sued when they were selling in game stuff.
Honestly, I don't think it'll happen. Even if it does I think Microsoft would just keep Mojang as the coding team, and Microsoft would act as a 'publisher'.
Honestly, if Microsoft spent 2.5 billion on Minecraft, they're not gonna go waste all that money by making you do things that people who play Minecraft aren't used to, i.e. paying for an update. Microsoft is making a huge investment, and if they do what people are saying, then Microsoft basically threw 2.5 billion out the window.
