OK Just a quick reminder... Skyblock is not survival, a kind hearted staff is not going to come along and roll back your island to fix the damage. We are not being mean, and it's not "our job" as staff, we can't micro manage the trouble you get yourself into... That being said I offer the following advice: 1/ PROTECT YOUR ISLAND - The best protection for your island is to build things that can not be destroyed; Crops that can not be jumped on, chest that can not be opened by others, make enclosed areas ( inaccessible from your main island ) that you can trade with people in or operate a shop. Letting people tp and run amok on your island is not our concern. 2/ MAKE YOUR OWN ISLAND - Many people are under the impression that the person you picked at random yesterday from a list of people logged into the server is your best friend and would never do anything to hurt you... after all they are your BFF right? So after you join someones island, move all your stuff there an log out... there is nothing to promise you that any of it will be there next time you log in. After all stuff happens, and there is nothing we can do about it. 3/ TP'ing TO OTHERS - "DOES ANYONE WANT FREE DIAMONDS?" comes across the chat line and dozens of you rush to send your tp request... Please people are you really that stupid? Enjoy the lava bath you are about to receive. You are not going to get your stuff back and likely if you don't get proof in the way of screen shots of them dumping lava and you dying... not much will be done without proof, even with proof you still won't get your stuff back. To those trying to kill people on skyblock like this, if I am on your island while you are doing this, you probably won't be playing here long... FYI - I am invisible and can tp to your island without your permission or knowledge... When you offer up things that are too good to be true, regardless if you see me on line or not, there is a good chance I am floating someplace over your island watching... or in your locked safe room... or standing in front of you as you are tossing the lava bucket, meh... I don't burn. 4/ WHO DO I TRUST? - No one, it's the internet... play for at least a few days before tp'ing to people or accepting tp's from others. Just because they have a high rank doesn't mean you can trust them. VIP and DONOR can be purchased on the web site for a nominal fee... these people are not staff, nor does it mean they are trusted members of the community. Get to know the people on line, use the chat line, and pay attention to who the trouble makers are... don't be a victim. 5/ IF YOU ARE ASKED TO LEAVE... - If you have warn out your welcome and are asked to leave, do so with great haste, don't stand there asking why, they don't need a reason to want you off their island. Failure to leave an island after being asked may cause your character to explode like a piñata and your items to be lost forever... this will of course never happen if you leave the 1st time you are asked. 6/ AUCTIONS - Don't buy items without checking them out first. Use /auc info to see more information about the item up for auction. Pay special attention to the amount of damage on items... 7/ WHERE AM I? - From time to time you will do something that upsets the game and you may get lost... /is home and nothing... before this happens (AKA Right Now), go to your island and hit F3, write down your x: y: and z: co-ordinates. If you own the island this will help the staff get you back to your island. If you are not the owner, there may be other reasons you can not get to your island, like the owner reset it, they voted you off the island, another island member took everything including the dirt you warp to... if we don't know why you can't get back to an island you are just a member of the staff will not re-add you to the island, the owner is the only one who can do that, so make sure your owner is online more than you. 8/ DON'T UPGRADE YOUR RANK... - If you have PURCHASED A RANK from the store here on the website, Please do not try to upgrade your rank in game... this will cause you to be down graded to the rank purchased in game (member, plus, noble) and you will lose your (VIP, DONOR or PREMIUM) Rank. This can only be fixed manually by Noble when he has time to fix it. Feel free to add tips to this thread - please note they may be edited for accuracy and clarity... If you do not care to have you're posts edited, please don't add any comments.
Good sound advice. Like he said, staff are there to keep the peace, not be dispensors of stuff. Lord knows, I don't trust anyone with anything I've worked hard to get. Neither should you. Unless you know them in the Biblical sense, are married to them, or even goto school with them...it's best you work alone. Be safe out there.
