Before anything else, I would like to mention this thread is an updated version of a past post, located here

Hey there, I'll be reviewing the rules and requirements for future Helper and/or Representatives. These ranks ensure maximum quality staff that surround our server on a daily basis. To avoid future questions as to where to go to apply, a link is located here

To get this thread started, I would like to explain the Helper and Representative ranks and what they do.

Helper - The helper rank is one step above representative, it allows you to move up to moderator and so on. Those who have skills needed for helper will be pushed up to moderator. The helper rank allows a player to access certain systems that take place globally around our network, ranging from how we punish players to rolling back raids or griefs. This rank takes double the effort and time needed for representative, this rank speaks for players who are extremely active and are able to handle multiple tasks are once. Helper has an age limit, that age limit is 15+. You might think that it's unfair and you would make a great helper even though you're below that requirement, but do not fret! The reason for this age limit is because we would like players on the older side, which also ties in with maturity and those who can make reasonable choices effortlessly.

Representative - The rep rank is one step below helper, you will not be able to move up with this rank. This rank allows the ones who are underaged for helper and are unable to contribute a lot of time to the network to have a role in our staff society. Rep only allows a certain amount of actions used to punish players, therefore reps are unable to rollback griefs or raids. There are less commands and they are limited on what they can do with our systems. Considering this rank is lower than helper, we still give a fair amount of actions needed for being able to do the job as rep. There is no age limit on representative and there will not be one in the future, this rank offers many opportunities to those unable to receive the helper position.

Now that we've covered the basics, I would like to move onto the rules

    RULES:
    • Do not ask a staff member to view your application; this action will lead to an instant denial
    • Do not send in fake or troll applications; this causes difficulty for our applications team
    • Do not re-apply or send in another application if your past one is still open after 2 weeks, our applications team is still viewing or deciding on it; this will result in a confusion and could cause one of our application team members to make a mistake
    • Do not pressure, bribe, or abuse a staff member into accepting your application; this will result in a ban
    • Do not lie; it will be found out and possibly turned into a ban
    • Do not disclose any information about an interview if received one; this will result in a possible ban
    • Do not bump your application or leave misleading or unrelated information in your application therefore in the comments section of it; if a piece of information is incorrect in your application, feel free to contact an applications team member or mention it if interviewed
    • Do not withdraw your application days or weeks after submitting; if you change your mind about applying for staff, tell an applications team member as soon as possible or they will get confused and it could cause confusion upon the whole team
We want you to make your application as spunky and unique as possible! Make something that reflects you and only you, don't go off of someone else's application and be a re-make of them, be you! Take your time on your application, spend hours or days on it, take as long as you need to make your application worth fighting for. It will be viewed by multiple staff, so make that keyboard dance!

    GENERAL QUESTIONS

Do you have previous experience with moderating on other servers? If so, please tell us what you did.
Yes, I do have experience with moderating on other Minecraft servers. My experience on Minecraft varies a lot, and I have had lots of fun with the experience that I have had in the past. So, firstly, my experience started on a server called FireRealm. On FireRealm, I was just an average player, and it did not have a website or anything, it was just a factions server. So, the owner decided to open applications, and you would apply using a book & quill. So, I applied and got accepted. I then offered to make a website for the owner, and I did. After that, he ended up giving me admin for making it, I was in charge of applications, and general website things. Then, I was promoted to Co-Owner, and I now was in charge of managing plugins, and adding them to the console. I ended up being staff on there for about three months total, before he shut down the server because he did not like Minecraft anymore. From that first server, I have gained experience on how to ban people correctly, notice what hacking is, and what it isn't. I know how to read documents given to me, and how to punish. Now, that was not the first server I was ever staff on. There were lots after that, but to keep this short, I would like to mention the servers I am most proud of. Next, is a server named Ares Network. I had been playing on the server for a while, and then applied for T-Mod. I was accepted, and then was when I had to get more used to taking evidence. We needed evidence for warnings, bans, mutes, etc. After about a month I was promoted to Moderator. I did not like how the server was turning out, as it was growing less popular, and there was no reason for me to be staff, so I resigned. Later on, the server ended up shutting down. After that, I found a server named MineVox. I applied for it, and then I was accepted. I was given documents to read, and I had to learn the punishment system. After about 2 weeks of being a Jr.Mod, I was promoted to Admin, leading the recruitment team and the community management team. I would go through applications and perform community events on TeamSpeak, in-game, and on the forums. I later had to resign, because one of the Admins had threatened to DDoS me if I did not leave, and I did not want that to happen. Lastly, I was staff on a server named MineWard. I applied for Helper, but during the application process, I was messaged on the forums asking if I wanted to become an Admin. I said yes, and I had read through all the Admin documents. I was asked to lead the media team, and I accepted. Later, I was offered to run the Community Management team, Ideas Management, and I co-lead the support team. This was one of my favorite experiences on any minecraft server, as I had a blast working with the staff team. Sadly, as I was away for a few days, they made decisions for my team, that I did not agree with, and that I could not have changed. I did not see my staffing experience going any further, so then I resigned. As you can see, I have had lots of experience with moderating minecraft servers, and I hope this can benefit me in being accepted.

How long have you played on Noble Craft?
I have been playing since May of 2015.

Do you have any previous bans?
    No

If you have any previous bans, what were they for?
    NONE

How would the server benefit from you being a Helper?
I think that the server can benefit from me being a Helper because I am very dedicated to the server. I can make sure that someone is not breaking any rules, and I can make sure to read all of the documents that are given to me. I can help lower down the amount of rule breakers. I always make sure that I am online at least 30 minutes a day, and I try to help a lot of people in that amount of time. I like helping people, and I think that I would prefer it if people ask me questions, instead of me just answering any questions they may have. If I get the Helper rank, and I can get asked for questions, and I really like getting questions, because I love helping people. I have had lots of experience in the past with moderating servers, as you can see above, so I know what I am doing, and I know that I can help more people, with my experience. I am also mature, and I make sure that I use correct grammar, especially when talking to new players, and helping them out.

What are some things that you can bring to Noble Craft that sets you aside from other applicants?
I think that one of the things that I can bring into the staff team, that other applicants can not, is mainly my experience. Not a lot of people have the experience that I have. I have been in the Minecraft community since 2010, and I have loved the game since. With all of my experience, I know how to manage servers, how to follow rules, and enforce them. If a document is given to me, and I need to read it, or sign something, I will always do it. If I have ever been given a document over the years in my server experiences, I always read through it, and never leave out anything that I should know. It is always good to know things, and especially to memorize them. Another thing that mainly sets me apart is my maturity. Even though I am at a young age, I am still mature. I make sure to never be out of line, and always stay mature. I don’t make dirty jokes, I do not rage, and overall, I would rate my own maturity at around 8. I have had people in the past ask me if I am way older then I really am, because I am mature. I do not just stay mature, to make my appearance different. I am ALWAYS mature in-game, forums, and teamspeak. Even when talking with my close friends. Another thing that sets me apart is the fact that I am professional. I like to joke around with friends, and to have fun, but when it is needed, I will always remain professional. On other servers, I have had to deal with ragers, haters, etc. I always remain professional, and make sure that I do not get out of line. If I do catch myself out of line/not being professional, I always get back on track, when it is needed. I still like to have fun with players, and I am not that strict. I am pretty lenient on punishments, I don’t just go straight for a perm mute, I usually warn them verbally before a real warning on the servers I have been staff on in the past. So, as you can see, I have some qualities that others may not have.

What plugins are you capable of using?
I am capable of using many plugins. Currently, I am basically capable of anything that is put in front of me. I have dealt with lots of custom plugins, and they are very easy for me to learn, especially if I have a guide to learn them with. Some of the main plugins I know is CoreProtect, Essentials, World Edit, etc. Like I said, I know a lot of plugins, too much to name. If I do not know a plugin, and I am needed to know it, I will go out and learn how to use it properly. If it is a custom plugin, I will hope there is a guide, and if not, I will experiment with it. With me owning servers in the past, I am very experienced with plugins in general.

How would you say your behaviour is when playing on the server?
I would say my behavior is very good when I am on the server, forums, and TeamSpeak. I always make sure that I am in a good mood when playing. I make sure that I never rage, especially in KitPvP. I notice that it is just a block game, and there is no point in being mad at the game. I always like to help out players, and helping other people gives me joy, as it is one of my favorite things to do. I always make sure I am in a good mood, or I just log off the server.

How much time do you spend a week on Noble Craft? Please divide it by Forums and In-Game.
I can spend about 12 hours minimum in-game per week, and about 16 on the forums, because I can use the forums on my mobile device.

    SCENARIOS

If a new player joins the server you are moderating on, how would you go about helping them?
When a new player joins the server, I would say “Hello there {name}! Welcome to Noble Craft. If you would like any help, let me know.” I would make sure to make them feel welcome, and offer them help. I would also link them to the rules document, as new players should always be reading the rules, so that they do not get upset when they are punished, if they are ever punished.

If someone is spamming chat what would you do?
If someone is spamming chat, I would first give them a verbal warning, because as I said, I am lenient on my punishments, I try to give them a few chances. If they continue to spam, I would give them a real warning, and then apply the correct punishment according to the guidelines.

What is the rule regarding excessive use of capital letters?
The rule regarding caps quotes “5 or more capitalised letters, or a clear overuse of capitalised letters. Abbreviations do NOT count as breaking this rule” therefore, someone can use 5 or more letters using caps, but it does not count if it is abbreviations. If someone were to be using caps, I would give them a verbal warning, and if they continue I would give them a warning, then if they continue after that, punish according to the guidelines.

If you see another staff member breaking a rule, what would you do?
If a staff member is abusing, I would simply first take evidence. After I take that evidence, if it is very severe (like banning random accounts), I would punish them immediately, and permanently ban them. After I do that, I would send the evidence to an admin, like nedthefed or Zombo_. It is 100% not acceptable for staff to abuse, and I have had to deal with it before on servers I have been staff on in the past. It is not cool, and I would never do it.

If you would like to visit the thread where the actual example application is, please make your way to the top of this post. (This example of a staff application was made by SDogAlex, all credit goes to him)

If you would like to view our past thread about this post, please feel free to visit it. If any questions are needed to be answered, shoot a message to an applications team member over the forums. ;)
