    LOOT SUGGESTIONS!
Note: this is in response to https://www.noble-craft.net/community/threads/new-content-a-farewell.5579/

This is a list of items I think should be in the item tables for loot crates. I'll format my list by crate type, adding a small thought on each crate underneath. After each item i'll provide a clarification, and perhaps a rationale. Items requiring further explanation or qualification will be marked with * and there will be a corresponding footnote. Anyone who has any further suggestions or constructive comments on current suggestions should do the same, or at least specify the type of crate the item can be found in. Vote-crate and Lockbox are at the end, I had a few comments and no suggestions so fell free to throw out ideas people!

    Junk Crate:

The items in here feel appropriate for a junk crate, but perhaps adding a few construction blocks would make these more viable in the economy.

    1. Common construction blocks (preferably not cobblestone, perhaps in quarter or eighth stacks) - give hunters a chance to build too!
    2. 1st tier enchanted books - enchants that could be useful to entry level players
    3. One or two WOW! items (extremely rare chance) - something that makes you say "this was in a junk crate??" , could be similar to OP Whacker in rare, but with much lower chance
    4. Ink sac (1-2) - its one of the rarest dyeing items in game because its annoying to get but a Cratehoarder = a stack or two in a couple minutes.
    5. Torches or sticks (maybe sticks so coal is still useful) - stop the deforestation! help miners light up tunnels without killing all the trees.
    6. Clay (blocks or lumps) - its relatively hard to find and time intensive for a decent building block component. alternately brick would work as well though the full block might be more suited to Rare tier

    Rare Crate:

Rare crates are the most balanced crate IMO, they offer some good utility items (iron, redstone), a few junk items, and a chance for the rare-ish rewards (lockbox, OP Whacker, Scuba Helmet?) however at some point they stop being useful beyond speed opening them for lockbox uses.

Because of how quick it is to get a looting III sword, these become pretty frequent and so withing two weeks of joining I had over a dozen scuba helmets and OP Whackers. lowering the rates on those items and adding in a few other high tier items to their drop table would make them more appreciated

Iron armor/tool frequency is very high and the only conceivable use most people have for them is salvage once they get diamond gear. Repairs and /fix for $250 make them barely worth taking out of the box for the little iron they break down to.
    1. Popped Chorus Fruit (or chorus plants?) - this would give people another game block to work with in a more widespread manner
    2. Quartz or Nether Quartz - A great looking block that people without fly have serious issues getting much of because the areas around the warps get farmed out so quickly or claimed
    3. Slimeball (instead of ender pearl) - a more utility item, ender pearls aren't particularly useful with Fooifly and the feather item in-game
    4. Assorted potions - generally useful consumable items that aren't very prevalent in the economy. Even people with /god or /fly could use night vision

    Heroic Crate:

I rarely feel that opening a Heroic crate is worth the cost as they auction for $500-$1000 and I typically feel like if i just sold all of them i would have the money to buy whatever was in them and then some. Having a few incredibly rare items in them would make them more interesting.

The frequency of the mid-tier diamond enchanted tools/weapons seems a bit high, I have way too much Swaggy gear, and it barely auctions for anything because of the combination of rarity and repairs. The un-enchanted diamond gear is actually o.k. in my view since it gives players custom enchantables or breaks down into diamonds.
    1. Monster Spawn Eggs* - It's always cool to have a specific type of monster where you want it, perhaps locked in your base's prison/lab?
    2. Dragon Egg - A great cosmetic trophy item for the lucky/dedicated crate openers.
    3. Mob Heads / Player Heads** - Mob heads are always fun, but rarity is paramount, because IMO if they're too commonplace, they can be obnoxious when every building is decorated with them.

    * Spawn Eggs would be complicated because you would need to ensure people couldn't psuedo-PvP each other with Monster Egg battles, although it does sound amusing as an arena event.
** Player Heads are always fun with the same contingency as Mob heads, but this is also typically a donor perk. perhaps it could be a donor perk to have the option of having your head appear in the drop table? otherwise a generic Steve head could work.

    Vote Crates:
The rewards here are alright, my issue is the crossover between tiers. Getting a top tier Uncommon reward from the Rare vote-crate is frustrating. Rare rewards should be exclusive to that crate as you only get them when you're online while the party occurs.

    Lockboxes:
The lockbox mechanics and loot rarity seems fine to me, the rares are rare the commons are common, it works well. The list here is just other items I think could be possible loot. My only issue is the couple of food items that are essentially useless with all the food gotten in the crates (to the point one of them is literally named Useless). They're a slap in the face after farming loot crates and finally getting a few lockbox requisitions. The common utility items are great though. Someone had mentioned it would be nice to have a chance at rank upgrade because it's possible in OP prison (not sure if this is true but if so it would be cool to have a survival corollary).

    Junk Crates:
Ink Sacs - It's not THAT hard to get Ink Sacs. You don't need The Crate Hoarder, just get a looting enchantment. (Check out /warp ibooks to buy some, along with other enchantments)
1st Tier Enchanted books - Eh. I think that's a little too much, since we have books in the Heroic Crates. Anyone can acquire this by using the public xp farms and enchanting some books. Lapis Lazuli for enchanting can be acquired in multiple ways.
One or two WOW! items - Heroic and rare crates are enough. Not to mention the lockbox vouchers inside them.
Torches & Sticks - Can be easily acquired. I don't think this should be added. You can get tons of coal by creating a Charcoal factory (redstone machine) and a tree farm to support it. You get both charcoal AND wood from those. Besides, don't you love the Crispy Coal from lockboxes? Haha.
Clay (Blocks or "lumps) - Clay is not THAT hard to obtain, either. You just gotta look in the right places. Mesa biomes solves the problem of acquiring stained clay. Bricks would be the only reason, and that's why it should just stay in the Junk Crates (if this were to be added).

    Rare Crates:
Chorus Fruit - Nice to have, but I can live without it. This would probably be temporary; once The End opens, it'll be easy to farm.
Quartz - Yes, this is a little hard to obtain for non-flyers, as most of the nearby quartz has been mined. Although, a better idea is to just have warps set at random locations in the Nether for public use, since /rp is not in the Nether atm.
Slimeballs - Great idea, but if anyone actually took the time to find a "slime chunk" and make a slime farm, or go out in the swamp biomes and hunt some down, this would not be needed.
Potions - Wouldn't mind these at all. As of right now, there is a bug that does not allow me to brew splash potions.

    Heroic Crates:
I don't think those items will be in the Heroic crates as they would seem more likely to be in the future Admin Market. The items for the rare crates, I do agree with adding. I've suggested those before in the admin market thread (under "Updates & Announcements").

    Lockboxes:
Rank upgrades would have to be extremely rare. Perhaps a Sponsor or VIP book would be better. You could also just aim to be the top 3 in voting to get a voucher.

When the Admin Market opens, we may or may not need any of these items in those rewards. But these are good suggestions :)

    +1 for you!
