Update 1.9 and the Future

No, well, not exactly. The server is compatible with any 1.8x version. Vanilla or Optifine. Tomorrow 1.9 Vanilla should be the only version that works, but 1.8x versions are different then 1.9x versions.

 

Pvp is dead.

Jitter clicking is dead. So is kill aura and other combat hacks, like fast arrows.

This Combat Update was aimed to give fair gameplay and negate those hack clients. Sure it might have put a damper on how you PvP but it needed to happen. There will still be PvP, it just wont be like you're used to.

The game has changed.

It's almost like how in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, it was a game of who could point and shoot. Then Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, it was a game of who could high jump and shoot. I didn't like AW due to the exo-suits but I got used to it.

You'll just need to get used to it and think of how to improve upon the new pvp.

 

So my 9 cps will compete against people with 15+? welp this update might help me lol... but I know it'll hurt me in some ways.

Just a question when u say there aren't going to be any resets on any server does that mean there wont be a END reset? because 1.9 is based around combat update and the end...
Will there be a dragon egg?
Will there be regularly resets for the outside end?
Will the main spawn point in the end be claimed by administrator?

We're making a NEW survival for 1.9. I'm assuming nothing will happen to the old survival. Also, Necrai is no longer an admin.

Nothing is said in stone. I'm just speculating that since I've been saying for a hard mode vanilla server for a long time, that that's what is going to happen.

 

Does this mean the server is ready, though? Right now it shows as being updated to 1.9, but then I get this:

Internal Exception: io.nettyhandler.codec.DecoderException: Unknown serializer type 65.

Wat does this mean :O

 

1. The code is probably there, but the update probably hasn't been launched. At least, that's my guess.
2. It probably means that your Minecraft on 1.9 isn't compatible with the server's current 1.8, so it says "unknown serializer"

I just thought of something, the enderdragon can be resummoned! I remembered seeing that in my minecraft launcher.

 

It can be resummoned but only one egg per world. As I said, it's a server first trophy.
