So, in my base in Survival I made an auto armour station. The ides is that when you flip the trapdoor, the armour stand falls, lands on a pressure plate, and gets shot with an arrow. After being shot by an arrow, it is destroyed, taken through hoppers to a dispenser, which then puts it on me. HOWEVER. After finishing it, I realised that arrows cannot destroy armour stands... If there is any other ways to destroy an armour stand, could any of you tell me? http://imgur.com/U8twHix
Have you tried a piston pushing it into a wall? "Sufficating" the armor stand. Maybe dropping it next to cacti and have a hopper pick it all up?? Test with leather armor or something cheap so you don't accidentally lose it. I've never done anything like a Auto Armor Station so sorry if I'm not much help. Hope something works!! -Dadsbuddy13
This is an amazing concept I'm going to try make something from this on Creative or something. Not sure how to break armour stands though.
Ok, I make a little contraption on SP and arrows DO break armor stands, but when I went on Noble-Craft they just bounced off. I'm thinking there is a plugin or something that is protecting armor stands from arrows. That way raiders can't destroy them and get your armor. (That would be sad...). I will try to test more things and when I find something I'll let you know. Also pistons wont push armor stands. I tried arrows (worked), falling anvils (failed), and pistons (failed). Hopefully we will find the answer and you will have your auto armor station! -Dadsbuddy13
That probably would work but you don't wanna accidentally lose the armor to fire/lava... Is it ok if you put all the armor already in Dispencers and you just have to push a button and you get all the armor on?? You could have armor stands to preview what armor you are putting on.
What if you had a dispenser on either side, and had lava in one and water in the other? Or if you have a fast enough tick it shouldn't matter, right?
Did you ever get it to work? If not I have made something on single player and it works great! (Thanks Shrekster for the lava idea)
Lol. What I did on single player is an armor stand drops into a small area. When the player pushes a button lava catches the armor stand on fire. The lave CANT flow anywhere because there is a hopper (catching the items) and a pressure plate to stop the lava flow down. The lava is picked back up and a few seconds late the armor stand breaks. You get all your armor but not the armor stand... That's the only downfall to this. To replenish the armor stand, you have another button, and when pushed Pistons retract a block which drops an armor stand down a level. When it's stacked you add a little delay so when the piston retracts the block it is able to catch the next armor stand before it falls too far. If you are confused I can very quickly make it on survival. It is very simple and fast to make. (Don't be afraid to ask me! Lol) What you could do is have your armor on display and have a dispenser under you. When a button is pushed it takes a duplicate armor (like the armor in the display window) and puts it on you. This would save armor stands and help with the possibility of armor stands despawning. Did anyone understand any of that... I know I'm not be the best at explaining things... Lol. -Dadsbuddy13
