    Dear Staff Members,
I ,with my observations have made over the few weeks from being on this server the staff members are not always the most helpful people. First of all, I myself have dealt with staff members that would not take care of a problem within the game in a timely manner. Majority of the time it is about a hacker in kitpvp or unfair conduct within the game. IF I have to go (to a different game) get a staff to deal with the hacker is can take me up to five times of messaging to get the staff's attention to deal with the hacker. Also alongside this, they do not come right after I tell them, it has once taken thirty minutes for a staff member to report to their job. Secondly, a lot of unfair conduct is going on in-game dealing with the staff members. They do not always inforce the rules it seems or they deal with problems in "alternative ways". I have witness on many accounts that they do not handle the cursing as they had with me. It would take them long amounts of time to mute them to me. They also do not handle teamers on a low player base in appropriate manners. They fight themselves making a "challenge" between the team and staff. I have been frustrated with certain staff online that seem to abuse the job.

On a side note: I have considered leaving the server as I have voiced my opinion other times but I have not seen action taken place.

I agree, even if they are doing a good job, I'm sure things can always be improved on.
    Hope this gets noticed.

You don't really know what goes on behind the screens, staff members have to do a lot, things players can not see. Their screens are quite spammy, and they try their best to do what they can. Nobody is perfect, and I know for a fact that you aren't either. It doesn't take two seconds to record a video, upload it, and ban someone. I am also pretty sure the staff members weren't just laying around, they do stuff you can't see. They are like ninjas xD, you can't see them but you know they did something :p .

I agree with both of you CookieLuv_ is probably right it seems like mods are very busy, but I also agree with VSC's I think they do need to add more moderaters to the server so it is fair for once in KitPvP

In a minute, I'll post a reply on here, but I couldn't help to see the fact you were, in a way, talking down about applications team. I'm not getting mad or upset about it though. I just want to point out and let you guys know that staff hates nobody. We would not have that on the team. I'm in no real position to say that kind of thing, feels like it's what an admin would say, but our staff does not blacklist any player unless they have done something vein. By that I mean something extremely bad. I won't point out examples. We look at your applications, and we give our thoughts. We are mature and if you have posted an appeal and such, you would see that we deal with things in respect. I am not home just yet, but I will post an on-topic reply once I can.

Admittedly, I am not one for KitPvP, but whenever I am online ingame, I will help anyone who has a problem on there that is seeking out staff. While that may not be the most often, I most likely AM available for those who may need me.

I am home now. VSCs, I just want to point out that we staff members can be very busy. When we are doing nothing but joking around and you know we are not doing anything to do with Moderating and you tell us something is wrong on a dif server but we dont say anything, that can be a problem. But then again, our chat is very spammy and can sometimes be hard to see some things. If we dont see it the first time, say it again, and if still we dont, message us or send a /email [send] so that each time we do any command, we are told we have a new in-game-email. Now about our taking a while for banning/muting. On kitpvp, the most common offense we find is hacking. We cannot just do /ban and then put proof later. We have to get the evidence first, and upload it. That can take a while. If you have uploaded a gaming video, it can take a while depending on your internet. I can upload AND play at the same time and my video would upload in like 5 minutes. Also does that because not only is my internet good, I converted the video file from an .avi file, which takes a lot of memory, causing it to be even more data to upload, to a .WMV videofile. Which takes like a whole lot of memory from the video, and compresses it. Some staff don't know that. I have though, seen what you are talking about, how some staff are 'ignoring' some players. No names will be said though. Even though that can sometimes be the case, again, our chat is spammy and we dont see everything. Things sometimes slip and if it does, you can just ask the staff if they saw it. Don't tell the staff member "do your job" as that can be very disrespectful. Just simply ask if we dealt with it.

    Hello VSC,

Staff members, as Cookie has said, have a very spammy screen with all the things we see. We do try to do our best to see and deal with everything but it is not the case sometimes. 3 lines of text for one member could be 10 lines of text for a staff member. I am constantly scrolling up in chat to keep up with conversations I am having with other people. It may take a few tries to reach us. I am also on the forums looking up information for members or staff sometimes which I am then not looking at my screen to see any messages toward me.

About staff taking a long time to deal with a hacker report, there are a few things that are on a checklist. For example:
    • Do I as a staff member have a screen recording program?
    • Who is the player?
    • What is the hack?
    • Are they actually hacking?
    • Get Evidence
    • Upload Evidence to YouTube
    • Punish player with YouTube link
Even if we have this, I personally am not an expert at hacks, I can not detect quite a few. I have not hacked or looked into them so I do not know all that is out there. This makes it very hard for me to detect, record with sufficient evidence and punish the player.

Hope this helps you understand a little more!

Often when a player has come to survival and asked me to come to kitpvp because of a hacker I usually find:
    1) Many players (including the one that came to find me) hackusating in open chat.
    2) If the players are not outright hackusating, they are insinuating that someone is hacking by saying "How's that KB?"
    3) The players are so outraged at the person they think is hacking because they keep getting killed by them, that they are now cursing up a storm in chat or spamming chat.

So.. now comes the fun part that staff has to deal with. We can't just come on quietly and stealthy to just simply record this hacker, upload the video and ban them, and do you know why? Let me tell you...

    1) The players have already hackusated before I have arrived, which means that the accused hacker (IF they were truly hacking) has already turned off their hacks or are being a bit more sly with turning them on and off. This in itself is already going to make my job at catching them harder and it will take me even longer to be able to find anything. (See the quoted thread at the end of this message) . However.. this leads us to ..

    2) I can't turn on my recording yet because I now have to deal with the chat which is filled with people hackusating and cursing and talking to me in open chat about all of their frustrations. So, now I try to be nice and tell them "Please do not hackusate in open chat -- if you have a problem with a player, please message staff". To which the players will then continue expressing their thoughts and feelings in chat. They will all commiserate about how they feel <Player> is hacking. I try to remind them again to not hackusate in open chat. Then, another person is killed and starts cursing, so now I have to remind players to not curse in chat. Then either a) the players will start to listen and will stop hackusating and cursing in chat, or b) I will then have to take screenshots of the repeat offenders and what they are saying (hackusating or cursing) and then start the punishments with a warning.. then a mute.. etc.. This step can take me up to 5 minutes.

    3) By this time, the person who came to get a staff member is getting frustrated because I'm doing NOTHING. (or so they think). Players need to understand that the more I am typing and having to control the chat, the more I am not able to be flying around kitpvp to observe the person or persons that are hacking. So now that player is talking about how staff is all crap and isn't helping and is useless because that person isn't banned. Everyone is now ganging up on that person and ordering me (yes, ordering me) to ban them. Marshmont, Just ban them. Well, by now I am ready to go back to the server I was playing on because the players that know enough about the rules about hacking should also know about the rules regarding hackusating and cursing.

    4) Now I am feeling the need to defend myself to the person that called me to kitpvp as well as to the others that have joined in on the staff-hate-fest to let them know that there is more to catching a hacker and to being staff than just banning the player. I try to quickly explain that I have been typing a lot and that I have not had the opportunity to even check out the hacker yet because I'm dealing with chat. And I try to explain that I need good, conclusive evidence that shows the actual hack.

    5) If the chat will calm down, I can now go about trying to catch the person if they have not already logged off. This can take 5 - 20 minutes to actually get because by now now they have turned off their hacks and they know staff is there -- somewhere -- watching. The person who may be hacking is either really good at PvP or their hacks are so good that the players are getting killed so quickly that there is not enough time for me to get the evidence. But I have to wait patiently as I turn my screen recording software on and off so as to not make the video too long. If the video is really long, it just takes forever to upload to YouTube. So, if I think I have a little bit of something, then I continue recording.. if not, I start again and keep trying until I can be sure there is perfect, indisputable evidence of the hacking.

    6) Now that I am sure I have evidence I watch a little bit of the video just to make sure that the quality is good and that I can see the hack well in the video. Then I upload it, get the evidence URL and attach it to the punishment that I deliver to the player.

This is a very long process in which the players are often not helping themselves or even thinking about how much the volunteer staff team is doing. Even right now, I am sitting on Survival while typing up this post. If someone has called my name, I have probably not seen it.

Staff members could be in any or all of these place at one time:
    Teamspeak
    Skype
    Forums
    Minecraft
Slack (used to communicate with other staff individually or as a group)

Please remember, this is a volunteer position and we try our best to help everyone and to be fair to everyone. We are not always focused 1,000% on our Minecraft screen. When we are online, we have many interruptions and we are also trying to play the game ourselves, but we drop everything we are doing to go and help players. Please consider this the next time you lash out at us.

Also, this is a previous post about how to deal with hackers before staff even arrives:

    Hello VSCs!

In regards to your message and the replies that have come with it, the majority of your message is invalid. We staff members have a massive amount of stress already due to other problems and addressing one of yours isn't always the main goal. What goes on behind our screens is endless. We have multiple things taking up our screens at once and can't always take control of the issues that occur. I realize you want a change to happen and for staff to step up their game, but in reality, it's hard to manage. Being staff of the Noble Network takes a lot out of you and someone like you confronting basically the whole forums and the people consisting of it, is basically disrespectful. If you had an issue like one specific staff member or multiple, then take it to a staff report form, not publicly because it makes the staff team look bad and this staff team is FAR from that. If you were in our shoes for a day, you would understand, so think before you act or type a despicable argument out. Thank you for you input, it's very much appreciated. Have a stellar day.

    Love, Original
