This is a thing as hasn't been established yet, at least not in the rules and I've gotten mixed answers when I've asked how many animals as are allowed per block where they can roam. As I have gotten mixed replies, I'd like a more unified answer because the one I've gotten the most (1 animal per block where they can roam) is very few and I don't think any player as has the ability to have more animals have limited their farms to that. Just got another interesting reply, 10 ones per block so it doesn't seem like a unified thing. Also got told that it's okay unless it lags the server but people have gotten their animals killed though it wasn't lagging anyone. ~Vampire
is... is this a thing now...? we can only have 10 ocelots per block?! WHYYYYYY i can barely keep it under 4230 ;-; so im going need to kill all the kittys?..... noble... you cant.... NOOOOOO HOW COULD YOUUU
Not really sure, everyone gives split answers and some of the answers defies what other staff has done before regarding this. --- Double Post Merged, Aug 18, 2015, Original Post Date: Aug 11, 2015 --- Does anyone know yet?
The issue with creating this unified system is having 2 chickens in 2 blocks wouldn't cause lag, but having 100 chickens in 100 blocks would because they all are constantly hitting off eachother which causes lag, and if that's constant.. yeah, a lot of lag. Currently I go by judgement, you shouldn't really go over 200/300 entities in your area, with the exception of Mob Farms (providing is has a autokill that goes off before too much lag occurs). So, the amount of Mobs per blocks decreases as the area increases.. I've tried several times to create a formula for this but it's never near perfect. The biggest issue with lots of mobs in an area is because they are constantly colliding, if they were separated it would help out a lot.
