EDIT: Submission date has been changed from August 28th to September 15th! Prize money has been upped to 60k. So Drew, Fluf and I were messing around on Survival 2 and I thought of a weird idea. We started making weird conspiracy fanfiction stories about our dad, NobleProductions. We also then decided to have a contest to see who could make the best story about him. So I decided that if you want to participate, now you can. Just buy a book n quill from /shop because I'm not going to give you anything, because I'm mean. Entries are due September 15, make sure to be creative. As this is a small contest to have fun, there are some rules: Be appropriate- you can have fun but make sure that what you are writing is appropriate for anyone to read. Spelling- Make sure what you are writing is readable. Kindness- Please don't be super rude, making a small joke and poking fun is okay but not something that could actually really hurt someone's feelings. (ex. "Then Bob fell down because he's so stupid" Stay away from writing stuff like that) Stealing- Don't steal ideas, that isn't cool. I would also suggest not sharing your stories with others, maybe someone you trust. Winner will receive 30k HAS NOW BEEN CHANGED TO 60K I am trying to get our dad, Noble to judge but he's probably afk. If he can't I'll find Kaye or something. If you break these rules, you can be eliminated. When you have finished your book make sure to re-read, be confident with your submission. Drop off submissions at /warp submissions , accepted no later than August 28th CHANGED TO SEPT 15. Happy writing!
You're lucky the "Be Appropriate" thing is there... I could make one hell of a story if it wasn't there
This is the guideline to how I will be judging the contest entries: Creativity (50 pts): The more your story sticks out, the better. Just imagine reading thousands of essays with the same prompt. This is essentially the same thing. You are more likely to receive a better score on your story if it is distinct from the others. Having a story with a contrived, cliché plot will not be of much assistance when it comes to you getting points. Plagiarism is not tolerated and may result in a zero for this section if any of it is found in your story. This aspect consists the largest part of your score, so be sure to take advantage of it. Conventions (20 pts): Editing is kinda my thing. Although I won’t be too harsh when deducting points for incorrect grammar/spelling/punctuation, I will give points if your syntax/diction is more complex. And just to clarify, points will still be taken away when needed, but this is a contest on a (terrific) Minecraft server; you don’t have to write like you’re applying for college. Appropriateness (10 pts): Remember, Noble Craft is a PG server. If you know this server rule well, you should be fine. There shouldn’t be any excessive gore/drug/controversial/sexual content in your story. If there is, you are still subject to the appropriate punishment. Additionally, failure to comply to this section may result in a zero for this category. Organization (20 pts): A story should typically have a recognizable flow to it. There should be a clear beginning, middle, and end. You can’t really just go from punching logs with your bare fists to re-summoning the ender dragon. Granted, some stories are supposed to have an unpredictable feel to it, but pulling something like that off will prove to be difficult and you may have to make it clear to me of how your flow is supposed to feel; if your writing skills are good enough, you won’t need to tell me—the story would tell me for you. Good luck to all the contestants! I look forward to reading your stories.
