Forum? What is this forum you speak of? Exactly! A lot of people don't even know these forums exist. And most of the people that do, only come there to vote. The forums are a great place to share your opinion on the server, but it's so much more than just that. You can do contests, share your favorite builds with videos and pictures, advertise your warps, and talk with other people about Minecraft or other topics. Unlike in-game chat, your screen doesn't get filled up to the point where you miss some really great messages from people. Here, you can see everything all at once: it's stored and easily accessible. Forum Showcase: Here will be links to threads that are worthy of checking out. Idea #1 Similar to the voting system, players' first login or post on the forums each day grants them a "Postbox" in-game. The postbox can contain special items, lockbox vouchers, tokens, money, or even vote keys Idea #2 You know the tip announcement that pops up in game every so often? The same should be done with a link to the forums. We're all lazy sometimes, and don't feel like typing the whole link in our browser. So a clickable link should do. Heck, you can even add some clickbait Idea #3 As you know, not many people have time to vote all the time and be one of the top voters of the month. We can have a monthly raffle. Once per day, when a player logs onto the forums, they earn a ticket that is automatically put into the raffle. The more tickets, the more chances you'll have of winning. The winners are picked randomly (so everyone has a chance to win) at the end of each month. The winners receive money vouchers to use in the store. . Well that's all the ideas I have for now. I actually had the idea of a monthly raffle not that long ago! I really like the ideas that are listed here.
I completely support this idea, despite my lack of activity I hope my opinion is still counted, but this is very beneficial for the server as it would gain more attention on the website / forums, which is always amazing, and ontop of that it is also rewarding players for being on the forums which backs up my previous statement of gaining more attention on the forums. The daily log-in reward (atleast what I interpreted as) is also very nice, there are plenty of websites which rewards activity, an example is a League of Legends / CSGO gambling website (Not linking it for obvious reasons) which lets you receive a certain amount of coins per day, and if you do it each day for a week, you're rewarded with something much larger, this could be implemented in the form of lockboxes, like you said, and then the weekly reward being a legendary case or 3. Overall it's a great suggestion and definitely deserves to be implemented
My only problem with this little statement here is that it only includes survival rewards. We should have something that could be shared over all the servers, or maybe each day's rewards are focused on one of the servers. Example: Saturday = survival or Sunday = Skyblock
Maybe another feature we could add is for the people that have been either active, or have stayed on the forums for a certain amount of time could possibly get a voucher, but if it can't be that, maybe a player could get a custom item in game that you can only get from being on the forums or being active for a lot of time!
I like the ideas you suggested Aero! Number two and three really peaked my interest. Maybe we could get the voting links turned into some hyperlink text and plastered in a box somewhere on the main forum page. My personal issues with the forums is that they have a pretty old school vibe in my opinion. The generic black and white background with a logo could be spruced up with some different colors, fonts, widgets or what have you. I'm used to how Enjin used to set their forums up, interesting Minecraft themed boxes and backgrounds with all sorts of widgets and scoreboards, maybe even some custom emojis like a Lew face we can use when people broke something. These small things I think would really help draw more of the younger demographic. I do understand having an archival and simple design to the forums though, as functionality is very much so not an issue.
