Hey all! The forum team and I have been talking about revamping the current forum rules and making them more transparent with the community. We are also going to be explaining the current forum warning point system and tell you how many points every offense is worth. Forum Warning Point System We have this neat feature to be able to give out warning points so users can better understand the severity of their actions. These warning points are always attached to a thread or a post, and you will receive a message explaining what you did wrong. These warning points will expire after 6 months. Once you have 6 warning points at one point in time, you will be banned for a week. If you have 8 warning points at one time, you will be banned for a month. If you have 10 at one time, you will be permanently banned from the forums. Forum Rules I will briefly go over the rules. If you have any questions about the meaning of any of the offenses, please contact me directly on the forums. Please note that during the first month of these rules, we will be very lenient. All warnings will expire within 48 hours. General Rules Necro Posting - Posting on a thread that is over one month old (Some threads can be necro posted on) (This will not give you any warning points unless you do it excessively) Do not post boost (1 warning point) Do not bump your thread any more than one time (1 warning point) Do not mini-mod (1 warning point) Do not be rude towards other people (1 warning point) Do not make goodbye threads (2 warning points) Do not spam or flood the page with multiple posts without someone posting in between of their own free will (2 warning points) Do not deliberately make your text hard to read or understand (nothing like "hay m8 whaz up, mucsh luves") (2 warning points) Do not make troll posts and/or threads (2 warning points) Do not impersonate any staff member (4 warning points) Do not post inappropriate photos or links (4 warning points) Do not make inappropriate threads or posts (2 warning points) Do not create troll applications (3 warning points + blacklist from submitting applications) Do not advertise other servers (6 warning points) Do not discriminate against anyone (6 warning points) Do not spread hate about people, staff, or the community (4 warning points) Do not make threads or posts about anything sexual in nature (4 warning points) Extreme Perm Ban Offenses (10 Warning Points) Scamming Posting pornographic content Forging evidence for reports DDos/Death Threats Posting Screamers Bullying/Harassment Using an alt to bypass a ban Reports General rules apply here. Do not forge evidence. Do not use evidence over 2 weeks old. Do not post a report without evidence. PLEASE STAY UP TO DATE ON THESE RULES. THEY MAY CHANGE UNEXPECTEDLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. AS ALWAYS, THE DISCRETION IS WITH THE INDIVIDUAL STAFF MEMBER. MORE WARNING POINTS MIGHT BE ASSIGNED FOR SEVERE CIRCUMSTANCES. Fixed by Incomp.
As Shrek has already stated, this has been needed for a long time. Now that we have this, it's much easier for users on the forum to know what's right and wrong.
Great rules! I just think that inappropriate links should be 4 points. But, that's just my opinion! Thank you again, this is needed.
"Do not say anything like "hay m8 whaz up, mucsh luves"? what? xD --- Double Post Merged, Apr 30, 2016, Original Post Date: Apr 30, 2016 --- zombo doesnt know how to derp talk... Much needed I knew a few people that bypassed bans by using alts and inappropriate links
The reason goodbye threads are against the rules is because we see them as not contributing positively to the community. We do not think you should make a huge post about how you are leaving, when most of the people who make these posts stick around anyways. However, you can still post goodbye messages on your profiles. You will only be warned for post boosting if you make multiple posts that do not add any value to the thread and are meant to promote one of your posts. Discretion will be used on this warning more than any other one.
I like the idea of that, but maybe only give points if they are staying? There's no point in givings these points to people if they are leaving. Just my opinion on it. It is nice to see this be added so we can have a better forums. Nice job!
I well understand this, but I can just imagine people going like "why aren't you banned you have almost 1300 posts fudgin post farming kid get outta here"
We would like to just leave these off of the forums and keep them to personal walls. Your true friends would be following your wall, and there's really no need to announce it to the entire community. If they do that, they will get warned for being rude, and if the threaten any warnings or bans, they will get warned for mini modding. No, because I am unable to warn Noble
