Hey there, so it has come to our attention that we need more high-quality staff to help deal with the amount we have been growing as of late. The Representative rank is a step in the right direction towards resolving this issue.

    What is the Representative rank?
The Representative rank is the new lowest tier staff rank. You will be able to apply for it over at the applications section. It is a realization from us that not everyone has the time to devote that we require, so good applicants We also accept that the barrier to entry to become a helper is actually pretty high—most applicants we have found are turned away. The Representative rank is changing that, as it is specifically tiered for those with the right mindset but who lack experience or deep knowledge of the rules yet.

    What can a "Representative" do?
Representatives are given the ability to issue SEV_1 chat mutes and warnings. They are fully qualified staff members. People who apply for Helper but don't score so well—but still mean well—are likely to be offered the Representative rank. However, you can apply for it directly and stay there if you so desire it.

What do you mean by "stay there"?
The way we ran new staff in the past is that we gave Helpers one month to improve to the point where they could be classified as a Moderator - they were then given a test and judge based upon their results and the actions they took over the course of the month. If they scored above the pass rate, they were accepted in as a Moderator. This is no longer the case. Representatives and Helpers can now choose to take that next step after one month of work in that position. This means that, if someone feels they can only devote enough time to be a Representative, then they are let do exactly that.

What is the point of any of this?
To help improve the experience you guys have! We need more staff to cater to more people, and, as previously mentioned, the Representative rank is the first huge step in the right direction towards accommodating that.

    Additional note - Mini-modding correction
We have found over the course of the past few days when the mini-modding rule was instated that it has been too stringent. As a result of this, we are now altering this rule to the following.

    You can:
    • Remind someone politely of the rules, example: "Hey, x, caps is against the rules. Can you stop?" - "X, spamming is against the rules".
    You cannot:
    • Say what they are doing in short, examples: "Caps!!" - "Spam!!" - "Don't spam!!".
    • Threaten to ban or punish the player, or get the player banned yourself, example: "Hey, stop that! I will get you banned!".
The reason why we have made this rule change comes from what you guys think. We listen to change and we respect what the community wants. We ask that, if you do correct someone on the rules, you first make sure that you are in the right—correcting someone who hasn't actually broken the rules can lead to problems. We also would like our players to note that, if it looks like a staff member is handling the situation, crowding the rule breaker is considered rude and you will be asked to stop. For example, if a staff member is already dealing with someone, please let them deal with it alone. Lastly, in the event that you can, we would like to note that simply reporting the player is considered to be a better course of action if the rule they are breaking is serious. Do not attempt to stop someone who is griefing and won't listen to you—just take a screenshot and report them.

Thank you all and if you have any questions regarding any of the above, please feel free to ask below!

    Regards,
    Ace

You have done a great job as Admin so far, and I love the idea of this new rank, and the mini modding rule change.

    Thanks!

There isn't one! It is purely based on the merit of the person. Providing you are mature enough, you are good to go.

I don't see the application in forums. Do I apply as a Helper and they just choose whether I am a Helper or a Rep?

I have a question about the permissions for the Representative rank. Will the rank grant permission to the use of Core Protect?

Nope, Sev_1 chat mutes and warnings. The idea is to give them little responsibility so that they can do the "helping out" that we see from a lot of the players who fall into the mini-modding category. Later on if they feel like the commitment they can go through the process and become a helper and so on. At that point they get access to the bans, etc.
