Hey Everyone, I don't know if most of you have heard (if you watch any YouTube at all, you should), but the Fine Brothers have decided about a week ago to copyright strike and take down ANY video with the word "react" in their title, or any reaction video with a similar format to theirs. This is really dumb on their part, and although they have tried to cover it up by lifting the "ban", it won't stop the Internet from hating them even more than MasterOv. Here is their Live Sub count, watch it go down with me! Here's kind of a deeper explanation of what is going on. The Fine Brothers are apparently worried about their success and originality in their Reacting videos. So, they decide to make a network where YouTubers have to pay to make any sort of serious reaction video. In some of the first days this was put into place, there was proof that even after they said they wouldn't be deleting videos, a channel with barely 100 subscribers was taken down just because he made a reaction video. It's completely unnecessary in my opinion, and I hope they're prepared for the 13million subscriber mark!
After watching a lot of videos and reading into this subject, I personally find it untrue that they plan to take down any reaction video. I advise anyone who reads this to leave it to form any opinions until it has unravelled more. If their word is entirely true, this is what they are planning to do: - Play Big Brother, copyright the word "React" so that no-one who is actually going to take advantage of it gets it. - Not to actually use that copyright to take down anyone's content, or restrict them at all. - Create "React World", an optional channel where a large group of creators can upload their content onto a channel that will hopefully have millions of people watching. This gives people access to a massive audience that they wouldn't otherwise have. Yet they would *not* be penalised in any way for deciding against joining this programme. Though, things that we don't know is, how much money they would take as a percentage per video from the original creators. Some estimate it'll be a lot, but nothing is confirmed; also how getting on the channel would work, a contract? just the ability to upload whenever you please? Stuff like that. Any video or channel that claims to have been taken down has only had proof they were taken down by the network they work with, not explicitly them. So, that's not evidence, just suggestive. I'm not saying what they've said is true, but that's all they've said. There's no harm in what they have proposed to do, and I don't think it's right to harass them over this.
Brings me back to this point- they're doing something wrong to throw off the internet http://www.livecounts.x10host.com/?channel=finebrothers
https://medium.com/@FineBrothersEnt/a-message-from-the-fine-brothers-a18ef9b31777#.7odumhbf6 They posted this on their Twitter last night. React World is dead, their trademarks are being removed, and content ID claims are being removed. Their sub count has come back up a little bit, but the damage has been done.
Yeah, I saw that, that's why I mentioned that they are trying to cover up for the trouble they caused.
