I have done some research (cause I was bored) and I have found out if home work is good or bad. But I would like have have your opinions. Is homework better or worse for education???
In my opinion, I think regular homework (Homework like, Math worksheets) is bad. But, If homework encourages creativity, I think it is amazing for people to have to be creative. I also personally believe that if someone is creative it can help them educationally. So, my short answer to your question is: It depends.
Is homework good for your education? Yes, I believe it is. It is all in how it is encouraged and how you comprehend the criteria. Homework gives you practice at home, which you should do with your friends and/or family. We are always taught how boring home work is and how it is a chore. So therefore we do not want to do something that is boring. Also, home WORK has the word work in it. Not all of us want I work and so that also has a negative impact on the word. Now if you call it study time, it is not so bad. Should homework be forced? To a certain extent. I believe if you are lacking in the subject you should be forced. Now, if you are really good in the subject, homework should not be forced for that day. You can choose to take it. So yes, Homework helps you with your education. Just needs to be presented and thought of in a positive way.
Life of a high schooler and a college student, no matter in a UC, State or JC system have or starting to figure out that homework really is more harmful than helpful. Students have been always drilled to do homework because it is what the system wants you to do and expects you to do. So you think that this is a necessity thing to do in order to succeed in academically. When you start to take a step back away from your personal opinion about homework and the good or bad about it but look at the facts about students now you will find out that disorders in students have grown over the course of a few years and more suicides have been attempted. These have been reported and the main cause is because of homework or related to over excessive amounts of studying. I am not saying this is the cause of all these circumstances but if the school system wants to educate the upcoming future of our country and the world we must refocus the goals of our educational system to more manageable, realistic outcomes as opposed to an anxiety filled student who has been taught perfection is the norm. I don't want to really go on a rant because I have done a study about this in college but homework can be useful but we are just implementing it wrong in the school system. Done. Close thread.
To be honest, I have researched a lot of this stuff, about school, homework and how it is affecting children. I could go on and on about this subject. If you want to hear it. PM me somewhere, I would be glad to tell you my opinion. xD
WOW personally I didn't expect these intelligent guesses, I thought ud say "homework suck, I don't likes the homework." But I'm not sure if I should tell u my opinion yet or let other people say stuff.
